The Producing Diagnostic is a free self-assessment for performing arts organisations. It gives you a clear picture of your organisation's structural health in under five minutes — and routes you to the right level of support.
Who We Work With.
RHP works with performing arts organisations whose structures, decisions and producing capability haven't kept pace with the funding environment they are now operating in.
These are organisations that know something needs to change, but don't yet have a clear picture of what, or in what order.
RHP is built on a decade inside the subsidised sector, followed by founder Rafia Hussain’s own shift into commercial producing — the same commercial thinking now at the centre of RHP’s model.
Our consultancy brings clarity, structure and long-arc producing intelligence to the organisations we work with, helping them see where they actually are, and what would close the gap.
Our three offers.
1. The Vibe Check [anyone can book]
A focused 90-minute conversation for leaders who need immediate clarity on a specific challenge, decision or direction. No preparation required — just bring the question that's keeping you up at night.
We’re always on hand for a Vibe Check.
2.The Reset [anyone can apply]
A full audit of the organisation and its assets, a clear-eyed breakdown of current income, and a practical strategy to reverse a deficit pattern by unlocking new revenue streams. Targeted support with clear outcomes — for when you know something needs to change but aren't sure what to prioritise first.
We work on a handful of Resets at any time.
3. The Glow Up [anyone can apply until 10th September]
Deep strategic work for organisations undertaking the kind of structural change that touches everything — programming, governance, income, identity. This goes beyond a single audit or project: leadership walks away with the commercial thinking to keep making decisions this way long after the engagement ends.
We work on one Glow Up at a time. // Applications open until 10th September.
Client Outcomes.
These are the same three areas the Producing Diagnostic assesses — here’s what movement in each looks like:
Vision & Structure
Organisations stop relying on individual heroics to hold things together, and start operating from a model that can survive a change in leadership, a funding cut or shift in funder priorities.
Decision-making
Boards and leadership teams move from approving whatever's most urgent to having a framework for saying yes to the right opportunities — and no to the ones that don't fit, even when they're tempting.
Audiences & Income
Income stops being something that happens to an organisation through funding cycles, and starts being something the organisation can shape — through programming, partnerships, and audiences it has deliberately built relationships with.
These shifts take time. They're not quick fixes — they're the structural changes that make everything else (planning, programming, growth) easier afterward.
